Phoenix Brickwork attended a construction skills event in Halifax, where Jamie Duerden and Ruth
Clarke met with a group of construction learners to discuss opportunities within the industry.
Following a group presentation by Leah Larkin from Wates Construction, we spoke to learners on a
one-to-one basis to better understand their experiences, career aspirations and how Phoenix may be
able to support them.
The conversations were extremely positive, hearing about different pathways they hope to pursue
and offering practical guidance on routes into the construction sector.
